Allison Winsby is a Costume, Fashion, and Wig Designer currently based in Springfield, Missouri. Allison loves working in design because of the collaborative nature and the opportunity to connect through art. She is passionate about bringing characters to life with her whimsical design style and detail oriented approach. She believes in telling stories authentically and strives to leave a lasting impact on the community. Allison values creating a safe, positive, organized, and collaborative work environment.

She has earned her BFA in Theatre Design and Production with an emphasis in Costume Design/Technology from Oklahoma City University and has completed the Cirque Du Soleil Training Ground Program in Las Vegas with a focus in costumes. 

​

She has worked in the Costume and Hair/Makeup Departments for a variety of theatre and entertainment companies including PCPA Pacific Conservatory Theatre, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Oklahoma City Ballet, and more!

 

She has also recently entered the world of fashion design, specializing in unique artistic streetwear and festival style, blending historical silhouettes with surrealist inspiration and adapting it to create a unique style for the modern day consumer. She recently made her runway debut, showing her Spring/Summer 2025 collection, "A Jump in Time" at Kansas City Fashion Week.

 

Allison also specializes in wigs/hair and is skilled in design, ventilating, historical, contemporary, and fantasy styling, caged/structured wigs, and working with nontraditional wig-making materials such as foam, yarn.

Allison has been recognized for her costume design for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Broadway World and USITT and for her hair/makeup design of The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Nighttime by KCACTF. She has also had design work from her 2023 take on Mozart's The Magic Flute on display at the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center in the summer of 2024 as a part of their 2024 Gala exhibition, A Luxe Affair.​​

​Outside of costumes, wigs, and fashion, she enjoys painting, cooking, watching movies, hiking and spending time outdoors, wandering around art museums, and exploring new places.
